Mr. Noel Salvacion, with Fr. Rod Salazar, SVD, will be giving a motivational discourse on “The Role of Catholic Schools in Cultivating a Culture of Peace” for religious lay CLE teachers in CEAP Schools on November 18, 2011 at St. Louis, Mandaue, Cebu.
NCH Philippines National Sales Conference
Mr. Lloyd Luna was invited to speak for NCH Philippines National Sales Conference last May 17, 2010 at Baguio Country Club. Representatives of NCH International were present in the seminar. Sir David of NCH sat down and listened to Mr. Luna for almost three hours. He even participated in the activities.
Road Travel
Meeting place was PSE building at Ortigas by 10am. Sir Rico Nevalla and Sir Percy Garcia gave us a warm welcome and rearranged the baggage on the trunk, assuring we will be comfortable throughout the journey.
First stop over: SM Tarlac. Can’t believe we ate for two long hours at Mang Inasal. Our lunch – five PM2 (chicken wings and breast+unlimited rice), large iced tea and chicken ass! God knows how many times we asked for rice. And if that wasn’t enough, we even asked for soup! I guess we really enjoyed eating with our hands and the stories shared.
Second stop: 7-11, La union. What is more awesome than having coffee after lunch? All of us got French Vanilla. We’re about thirty minutes away from our destination.
Baguio Country Club
Before the sun sets, we’re all resting in our respective rooms at Baguio Country Club. But before reaching the place Sir Percy toured us at Camp John Hay. I might have fallen asleep while waiting for dinner. When the three of us –Me, Sabel and Sir Lloyd- went down, the buffet for NCH is over and well, yes, we ordered our own food plus cakes for dessert. Nomnomnom.
We were fascinated by the sunflowers surrounding the hotel; the first thing we remembered is the game plants vs. zombies :p
Pictures? Of course we took a lot of those.
The seminar
Three speakers motivated more than eighty sales person -Paula, David and Lloyd Luna. The first two were from NCH International. They finished their talk earlier than expected. After the morning break, Mr. Luna took the center stage.
Mr. Luna was not the speaker everyone always hoped for (based on physical attributes). We often hear his audience say “Ah, sya pala yun.”
For the first fifteen minutes, the audiences were filled with awe as the speaker is being introduced, as they learn his credentials and achievements. As he breaks the ice, the room is filled with laughter and joy but every single person gained knowledge, was inspired and motivated.
“After this seminar, one to two weeks from now, you could easily forget that we ever had this seminar, you could easily forget what you learned and go back to the lives you have before this.”, Mr. Luna says. Because it easier to live the life that you already have than to take the risk. Because we are afraid of the unknown. Because we are afraid to leave our comfort zone. Because it is much easier to forget our dreams than making it happen.
NCH’s sales went up to nine percent but they are ready and geared for more.We can only do what our minds can think of.
What’s the secret to success? There is no secret. Everything is obvious; we just don’t acknowledge it and we just don’t act.
After the talk, books were sold out. Book signing and photo ops followed with words of gratitude from NCH Sales persons.
Why Filipino speakers in your event?
Last year, I was thinking of asking some of my peers in the people development industry to join me in my advocacy to unite Filipino speakers by building a national organization. We are getting there.
Why Filipino speakers? First, I believe that Filipinos have something to offer to the world. I’ve been a consistent witness to this every time I speak in Asian countries. They simply can’t wait to hear our message and our unique ability to creatively present our idea.
When a Filipino speaks, the world seems to listen.
Professional Speakers Association of the Philippines (Psap) can make this industry better and can take every member to the next level in terms of world-class performances and presentations.
The Birth of FilipinoSpeakers.com
FilipinoSpeakers.com is the official website of the Professional Speakers Association of the Philippines (Psap).
